Smart glasses are heavy. A typical pair weighs 45 to 80 grams — up to three times what regular optical glasses weigh — and all of that weight bears down on two small contact points: the bridge of your nose and the tops of your ears. After an hour or two, the bridge aches. After three or four hours, headaches start. The SGG LIFT redistributes that weight off your nose entirely.
How it works
LIFT is a lightweight strap that runs over the top of your head and connects to both temple arms of your glasses. It suspends the glasses from above, so instead of the frames sitting on your nose, they hang from the strap. The nose pads still make light contact for stability, but the downward force is reduced to nearly zero.
The weight transfer is immediate and obvious. Put the strap on and the bridge pressure disappears. Your glasses feel like they weigh nothing because, from your nose's perspective, they basically do.
Who this is for
LIFT isn't for everyone. It adds a visible strap over your head, which is fine for home use, gaming, and focused work sessions but not ideal for social settings. The people who love it tend to be:
- Long-session AR/VR users. If you watch movies on XREAL, do multi-hour productivity sessions on Rokid, or game for extended periods, the weight fatigue is real. LIFT lets you go 4+ hours without the nose bridge ache that normally caps sessions.
- People with nasal sensitivity. Some users have nasal bridges that are more sensitive to pressure — from previous surgery, a deviated septum, or simply thinner skin. LIFT removes the pressure entirely.
- Heavy-frame owners. The heavier the glasses, the more LIFT matters. If your smart glasses weigh 65+ grams, this goes from nice-to-have to near-essential for sessions over an hour.
Adjustment and fit
The strap length is adjustable to fit different head sizes and glasses positions. Once you find your setting, you don't need to readjust between sessions. The attachment points at the temples are designed to work with standard glasses temple arms — no permanent modification to the frame.
Compatible with all smart glasses brands: Ray-Ban Meta, Oakley Meta, XREAL, RayNeo, Rokid, and VITURE.
Combining with other accessories
LIFT pairs naturally with SGG SLEEVE — the temple cushioning makes the strap attachment points more comfortable against your head. For display glasses, adding SGG SHADE for light blocking creates a setup that's comfortable and usable for genuinely long sessions.
The honest take
LIFT is a niche product — it solves a specific problem (nose bridge pain from heavy frames) with a practical tradeoff (a visible head strap). If you don't wear your smart glasses for long sessions, or if the weight doesn't bother you, you don't need this. But if you've ever taken off your glasses after an hour and rubbed the bridge of your nose because it aches, LIFT is a $44.99 fix that genuinely changes the experience. It is designed for long-session XREAL and Rokid setups where bridge pressure is the main comfort problem.
