The rule that prevents most mistakes: charging cases are model-specific unless the manufacturer explicitly lists cross-compatibility. A case may look large enough while its contacts, bridge cradle, magnets, sensors, or hinge clearance are wrong. Protective cases are more flexible; powered charging cases are not.
Compatibility chart
| Glasses family | How the glasses receive power | Charging-case answer |
|---|---|---|
| Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1 / Gen 2 | Matching charging case at the nose bridge | Use the correct Ray-Ban Meta case for the model code. Do not use a Ray-Ban Stories or unrelated frame. |
| Oakley Meta HSTN | Dedicated included charging case | Use the supplied HSTN case or an explicitly listed HSTN replacement. Do not assume Ray-Ban Meta or other Oakley Meta cases interchange. |
| Oakley Meta Vanguard / other silhouettes | Dedicated charging hardware supplied for the model | Treat every silhouette as separate unless Oakley lists cross-compatibility. |
| Rokid Glasses (display model) | Magnetic cable, optional dedicated battery case, or supported capsule | Use a case explicitly labeled for Rokid Glasses display hardware. |
| Rokid AI Glasses Style | Magnetic charging accessories for the Style line | Use a case explicitly labeled for AI Glasses Style; do not infer fit from the similar Rokid name. |
| XREAL 1S / One / Air families | Power from the connected USB-C source device | The included case is protective, not a battery case for the glasses. Model-specific docks may power source devices, not charge the glasses frame. |
| VITURE Luma / Pro / One families | Power from a connected USB-C source or ecosystem device | A protective case stores the glasses; mobile docks and battery accessories power the setup rather than charge a frame battery. |
| RayNeo Air display families | Power from a wired source device | Use a protective case; do not buy a “charging case” unless the exact RayNeo model documentation says the frame contains a rechargeable battery. |
Ray-Ban Meta: match the model code
Ray-Ban says the charging case is the only method to charge Ray-Ban Meta and warns that putting non-Meta glasses—including Ray-Ban Stories—in it can damage the glasses and case. Ray-Ban's replacement-parts flow asks for the model code. That is more reliable than selecting a case from a marketplace photo.
Oakley Meta: do not assume a shared Meta case
Oakley Meta HSTN includes a charging case that can provide additional charges. Oakley sells several Meta silhouettes, but visual similarity or shared software does not prove mechanical interchangeability. Keep the supplied case paired with the frame and buy a replacement only when the exact silhouette is listed.
Rokid: distinguish the display model from AI Glasses Style
Rokid's current catalog includes similarly named products with different form factors. The official Rokid Glasses charging case is labeled for the display model and is separate from the normal carry case. Rokid also lists charging accessories for AI Glasses Style. Confirm the exact product name and charging-contact layout before ordering.
XREAL, VITURE, and RayNeo display glasses
Many display-first glasses do not have a rechargeable battery in the frame. They draw power from a phone, handheld, adapter, or computing accessory while connected. For those glasses, “charging case” may be the wrong category: you usually need a protective case, the correct cable, and perhaps a battery-equipped source device.
Five checks before buying any charging case
- Match the exact model name and generation—not only the brand.
- Compare the charging-contact count and location.
- Confirm whether the frame actually has an internal rechargeable battery.
- Check that prescription inserts and pads do not block docking.
- Use manufacturer or seller fit photos showing your exact frame.
SmartGlassGear carries model-specific power and carry products in our Power & Carry collection. If a product page does not name your exact model, send us the model code before ordering.
